Colin McEnroe writes the blog To Wit and a column for the Hartford Courant.
In the blog "To Wit," Colin McEnroe weighs in on political developments, talks about movies, points out worthy articles, and sometimes lets us know when he woke up in the middle of the night. Colin started blogging for the Courant, "when the word didn't exist," back in 1999. "I like the immediacy of it," he says. "I was lucky that I was drawn to it right away." The 54-year-old humorist and commentator is comfortable with a diary-like blog. He recently had a series of posts on a New York City trip. One was titled "Waiting to Crash," and read: "It's 3:16 a.m. I'm not usually up at this time. But Sichuan food, more improv comedy and one of our semi-traditional midnight movies at the IFC seem to have re-set our inner clocks." It takes guts for a columnist to let readers peek into your life like that. What's appealing about "To Wit" is how genuinely he seems to have nudged the door open.
