It's a family affair at Tapas Restaurant, according to Zach Vetter, whose father Ted opened the original restaurant in 1986. "My father's a chef; my uncle is a chef; I am a chef," Vetter said. Laurie Laramie, who manages the family's original West Hartford location, says her customers like being recognized when they walk in. "[This] is a place the regulars call home. What sets us apart is you walk in the door and feel like you're in a New York cafe. Quality is key. That's a huge part of what keeps people coming back." The restaurant built its reputation on its Greek salad and famous dressings, which sell around 15 cases a week between all three locations.
