Dine Fine
BEST BAKERY

Luigi Mozzicato, from Mozzicato de Pasquale's.
Open since 1973, Mozzicato de Pasquale is another of Hartford's proud landmarks. Mario "Gino" Mozzicato (who owns the bakery and cafe with his wife Gisella), says the family came from Sicily to the US in the '60s and now the kids are taking over the restaurant. Though their now-grown children are prepping to take over the Franklin Avenue landmark (they've been in the same place since opening), Gino and Gisella still work, making canola, pastries, all kinds of breads and pizza. The shop sees a lot of Trinity and UConn kids, which lends a youthful, alternative feel to the traditional sense of the place, something Gino says he's totally into. "We have gelato, espresso, cappuccino, cordial, liquor, beer, wine - good for kids and grown-ups," he says.
