Foodies rejoice: paintings and pottery by more than 30 artists are on view in a show that centers on all things gastronomical. Works, such as Colander with Mussels in oil, above, revolve around the room at the heart of every home — the kitchen. Several events coincide with the exhibit, including Oct. 29 from 6 to 8 p.m., as cookbook author Terry Walters, whose most recent book is Clean Food, offers a talk and demonstration. On Nov. 8 at 2 p.m., interior designer Robin Reed will speak on adding flair to the kitchen during a martini reception, and on Nov. 22 from noon to 4 p.m., champagne, dessert and flowers will be offered by Cynthia's Flower Shop and Take the Cake. through nov. 22Kitchen Art Show, Stony Creek Gallery, 152 Thimble Islands Road, Stony Creek, (203) 208-1990; stonycreekgallery.com. All events are free. Part of the proceeds from the show will be donated to The Community Dining Room, serving meals to those in need in Branford.
